Parmdeep Singh Taunk was born on February 9, 1993 in Surrey, Canada and was called to the Bar of British Columbia on November 15, 2023. Parmdeep has been cultivating his interest and passion in criminal law since he took Law 12 in high school. Since then, he obtained an entry-level position with Sovereign Law Group as a part-time receptionist and process server. Over the course of many years – from answering initial phone calls to serving finalized legal documents upon defendants – he began to observe how simple decisions make ripples that implicate a network of people. Parmdeep pursued to frame his real-world experiences within the context of legal theory, attaining an undergraduate degree in Criminology from Simon Fraser University (BC, Canada), with honors, as well as a Juris Doctorate from Dalhousie Schulich School of Law (NS, Canada), with a criminal justice certificate designation. Parmdeep was eager to put his knowledge to the test as he articled with prominent criminal lawyers, handling everything from initial appearances to sentencing hearings. Parmdeep learned desire is necessary, but not sufficient; instead, hard work, patience, and compassion are the bedrocks of attorney life. Since being called to the Bar, Parmdeep has worked on several criminal cases, including a variety of assault charges and driving charges, as well as theft and fraud, among others, from start to finish. He provides excellent and time-oriented solutions, in both English and Punjabi.
In his spare time, Parmdeep likes to go to the gym and watch sports, but most of all, Parmdeep enjoys practicing and walking the path of Sikhi. It was from Sikhi he learned that true justice can only be born from compassion, which is why Parmdeep does not only work vigorously on his cases, but also handles his clients with compassion and empathy.
