I was around 52 years old when I married a widow in India, who was seven years younger than I was. My wife\u2019s application for permanent residency was refused on the basis of many reasons. Including: a performance called the pheras at our religious ceremony. To perform the pheras, my wife and I were to walk around the holy book, Shri Guru Granth Sahib four times. However, when we solemnized our marriage, we did not do the pheras. Another reason we were denied was because my wife could not provide an explanation for her first husband\u2019s death. Mr. Taunk represented me in my appeal before the Immigration Appeal Division and their decision was to allow my appeal.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Mr. S<\/strong><\/p>\nI came to Canada on a work permit. My employer and I retained Mr. Taunk for my PNP application to obtain permanent residency in Canada and my application got approved.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Mr. S<\/strong><\/p>\nAfter I obtained permanent residency in Canada, my application for sponsoring my dependent child was denied on the basis that I confirmed at the interview that my dependent would not be accompanying me to Canada. I retained Mr. Taunk to appeal the refusal decision of the visa officer before the Immigration Appeal Division and their decision was to allow my appeal.<\/p>\n
\u2013 Mr. A<\/strong><\/p>\nI was around 53 years old when I married in India. My wife was about 20 \u00bd years younger than me. I was previously married and had two children. My wife\u2019s application for permanent residency was refused on the basis of many reasons, including age difference and marital status. Mr. Taunk and Ms. Atwal prepared me for the Alternative Dispute Resolution (\u201cADR\u201d) meeting. My appeal did not go for full hearing and it was allowed in ADR.<\/p>\n
